I’ve said this before, but I love shoes. They are the one thing that can truly make or break an outfit. Have you ever looked at a woman walking down the street – great coat, check; awesome top, check; fantastic pants, yes. Then you look down and…completely wasted attempt. The look is killed.
I have many pairs of heels, all unique, and they never cease to make me happy. I can’t really explain the feeling of putting on a hot pair of 4″ heels and strutting down the street and into work. It makes you walk taller, carry yourself different. You look more in control, more vivacious, sexier.
My friend Melissa sent me this link (from Shopittome.com) the other day, and I agree with everything on the clip. Watch this clip to learn about “The Psychology of Shoes“. Shoes can be like an upper for women – put a great pair on and your mood instantly changes. Agree/disagree?
Some of my favorite quotes follow from the various interviews conducted:
“Shoes can be the catalyst to get you mobilized and help you get out and move beyond your comfort zone…”, -Psychologist
“I’m like a foot psychic. I can look at a foot and know where they’re coming from and where they’re going…the type of life they led”, -Podiatrist
“It’s an easy emotional purchase on a rainy blue day”, -Saks Fashion Director
“You’re either sexy or comfortable – one or the other – I haven’t been able to feel both!”, -Shopper
Enjoy!
